About Points of Care

Points of Care (POC) is an innovative program designed to help you save money on expensive prescription medications when you would otherwise pay out of pocket. In fact, we and our parent company, Universal Rx, have been in the pharmacy discount business for over 20 years. We’ve developed a reputation for saving money and making it easy for members to afford the medications they need.

Did you know that having health insurance doesn’t necessarily mean that you are paying the lowest price for medications? In fact, not all health insurance plans are written to include every FDA-approved medication. That means you could end up paying full price for prescriptions not included in your formulary.

We wanted to bridge that gap for our members, and that’s why Points of Care is here! Our team has negotiated with over 55,000 pharmacy locations nationwide in order to give our cardholders access to the best possible price on all FDA-approved medications.

When you present a discount card at a participating pharmacy, your pharmacist will apply the discount program to your purchase. If the medication at the pharmacy counter is more expensive than our pre-negotiated price, you’ll receive a discount.

The best part is that Points of Care is for everyone! Whether you are insured or uninsured, our program will help you avoid overpaying for medications (especially for anyone with a high-deductible insurance plan).
